Lorie, I was in Campo Grande in June of 2000. I was coming back from Coromba (sp?) where I had been doing mission work with a team from my church. HOwever, we were working with some missionaries that lived in C. G. - John and Luanne Marshall. They now live in Sao Paulo and work with university students.

    Matt, don't hate. Appreciate.

I met Stone Cold Steve Austin-- do people outside of Texas know who that is?? I worked at Morton's of Chicago in Houston- a really nice steakhouse. He came in with his girls. He was really short. I also met former Pres Bush and Barbara twice @ 2 diff restaurants in Houston- but they live there, soo...not really a big deal

Kristin, YOU MET STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN? The Texas Rattlesnake? What? What? Did he give you a Stone Cold Stunner?

Oh ... meeting Nickel Creek would be cool, too. Laura Beth, it seems to me that you have a whole plethora of subjects for future posts about all of these meetings.

Nick, I'm correcting my mistake right now.

Kristin, believe it or not, Stone Cold Steve Austin was pretty popular in Mississippi too. I was never really into WWF, but Becky was - so you can ask here about her WWF days. She's even seen real live midget wrestling. We have pictures at the house (maybe you've seen them).

Interesting. I know the Marshall's well, even though they moved to CG to work with my parents afer I'd come back to college. You probably worked with my parents in Corumbá---Carl and Wanda King? How fun that you've been to my two homes in Brazil?!

Yeah.... I know your parents. WIERD! Do you have a little brother? I think I met him... WIERD! In fact, a group from my home church in Oxford, Mississippi just went down to Brazil a couple weeks ago? Do you know June and Larry Overstreet? They, along with John Grisham (yes, the writer), are opening up an orphanage in Brazil. Are your parents involved with this?

Wow. Teensy, tiny world! I do know the Overstreets, and Buster Hale (LOVE him!). And, yes, my dad is the one who is heading up all that stuff for John G. and the other investors. We'll have to chat more about this!

I have seen Becky's wrestling pictures. Wierd

OH! And guess what!! Patty is going back to the Ryman on May 14th!!!! And it's just her show-my bags are already packed. I'm ready to go. Wanna come, LB?

And guess what else? Nickel Creek is coming to the Commonwealth Convention Center for a pre-Derby concert! They're headlining a show that also features the legendary mandolin picker Sam Bush, and two other acts!

Nikki says I am wrong- she says it is Phillips, Craig and Dean-- But-- one of my very best friends DATED someone from Nickel Creek a long time ago. I think. I could be wrong. But I really like NC.

Nikki, I'm ready to go... But I'll be leaving for the Midle East that day, Damascus (Syria) to be exact. Then on to Lebanon,Jordan, Sinai, the West Bank to Galilee, Jerusalem, and Greece. Not all in one day, of course. But that is where I'll be heading on the 14th of May.

Kristin, the band Phillips, Craig, and Dean is not allowed to be discussed on this blog, b/c the discussion would either be (1) complimentary of their music, indicating that someone has bad taste in music - and I really don't want to know if one of my friends actually supports bad music, or (2)making fun of Phillips, Craig, and Dean which while most likely being accurate could beroder on being sinful. :)

    Laura Beth-
Ohhhh yeah...I forgot about that. DANG! Who's gonna be my Opry friend?!

Oh, the Phillips, Craig and Dean thing is really funny because I can't remember who our friend said that she dated, but for some reason I think it's one of those guys. It doesn't sound right anymore, but she dated some guy in a band. Maybe it was Nickle Creek.

  • At 1:36 AM, Blogger Kristin said…

haha Just kidding my friend did not date a nicklecreek person...it was actually nickel and dime. wow- shows you how into the music scene i am. But it was not the group that will not be mentioned (P,C and D). I can't believe that was even suggested- gaah
